Today was a great day out on the water with a lot of interesting marine mammal activity in the area. In Weynton Passage this morning in the flood current, a Minke Whale was observed feeding while out in Blackfish Sound there were three Humpback Whales sighted and another Minke Whale; a fourth Humpback Whale had been reported earlier in the near vicinity. The Humpback Whales were observed feeding as was the Minke Whale a short distance from them with immense bird activity observed feeding on herring balls nearby. Other sightings today included: Stellar Sea Lions, Harbour Seals, Dall’s Porpoises, Rhinoceros Auklets, Common Murres, Red-necked Phalaropes, Bald Eagles, Black Oyster Catchers, Belted Kingfishers, Black Turnstones, Mew and Herring Gulls.
