Sightings: Bigg’s (Transient) Orcas, Humpback whales, Harbour seals with pups, Dall’s porpoises, Stellar sea lions, 1 Black-tailed deer, Bald Eagles, Belted Kingfishers, Black Oyster Catchers, Red-necked Phalaropes, Rhinoceros Auklets, Cassin’s Auklets, Common Murres and Black Turnstones.
It was an amazing day to say the least and the morning tour began with excellent viewing of two Humpback whales, Argonaut and Black Pearl. We received a report of Bigg’s (Transient) Orcas (T77’s ) who were westing off Donegal Head and when we first sighted them they were still travelling west, they were socializing and chasing Auklets and we also observed multiple breaches. On the way home we were thrilled to see a hauled out Stellar sea lion and a Bald eagles nest with one eaglet in the nest!
On the afternoon tour, the T77’s had joined up with other Bigg’s (Transient) orcas and some 20+ orcas were seen socializing together! After a beautiful viewing with awesome vocalizations we found the two Humpback whales, Argonaut and Black Pearl on the way home again.
