Transient Orcas and a Humpback whale

SV Tuan set out to find a couple Humpback whales this morning. The wind was light but strong enough to put up our mainsail after viewing them. We sailed down wind towards some Transient Orcas that we heard were in the area. We found them skulking through the small islands and ended up following them right around a small islet that had plenty of Harbor seals hauled out on its rocky shore. The 3 Transients then headed off shore and a fourth animal crossed our bow coming from a different direction to join in with them. This afternoon MV Cetacea had some nice encounters with the Transients and then headed off to look at Stellar's sea lions, Harbor seals, and more Humpback whales before cruising through the small island passages on the way home. A delightful day in the straits.
