It was a very windy day out on tour today and with the sun shining brightly the sea was sparkling amongst the frothing whitecaps. Our sightings today included a Humpback Whale, Stellar Sea Lions hauled out, Harbour Seals, Dall’s Porpoises, Rhinoceros Auklets, Common Murres, Black Oyster Catchers, Pigeon Guillemots, Red-necked Phalaropes++, Belted Kingfishers, Mew Gulls and Bald Eagles++. This afternoon orcas were reported from the vantage point of the “Cliff”, they were seen entering the eastern boundary of the Robson Bight Ecological Reserve as we were headed for home. Prior to this there had not been any sightings in Johnstone Strait all day.
