It was a beautiful day with fog drifting far in the Queen Charlotte Strait, it was very quiet with few boats around. At Bold Head we encountered five humpback whales, two mothers with their calves and a juvenile. It was an exceptional time that we spent with them especially so with a mother “Ripple” and her calf. Other sightings included: dalls porpoises, steller sea lions, harbour seals, rhinoceros auklets, herring and california gulls, common murres, red-necked phalaropes and bald eagles.
