Pelagic Biggs (Transient) Orcas ~ Rare sighting on July 7th in front of Alert Bay ~

These orcas went by Alert Bay and Alder Bay on July 7th in the evening ~ seen only once before off the BC coast they are rare to our area and are usually seen off the Oregon Coast (see: www.orca-live.org community posting on July 7th). The photo shown here has been cropped as the sighting was a distance away near the Nimpkish River across from our accommodation 'On the Beach' in Alert Bay. It was a very rare and special sighting that we were fortunate to see. Note, the leading male orca has a collapsed dorsal fin.
