Natures beauty and divine light at summer's end!

At summer's end ~ Yesterday began with a sequel of wildlife drama with porpoises being pursued by Biggs orcas who, being apex predators the orcas have nothing to fear, there are no other marine predators greater than they. There were migrating birds flying high in the sky and south to warmer climes and gentle giants in the shape and form of humpback whales feeding on their small prey of herring, as were seabirds, with gulls hovering from above and common murres fishing from depths below in ocean waters that pass on through in flooding (and back-eddy) currents, and tides aligned and in sync with the moon's monthly cycle as it journey's across our skies. And then, elements of warm flowing wind, wave action and sunshine with temperatures high that later rose to 29.2 C in the shade! Shifting cloud formations and the knowledge that rain, so badly needed was coming our way and soon! The afternoon, beautiful but scorching hot, too hot for bare feet on wood and freshly pegged washing drying on the line and fast, unbelievably so! The last chance to pick blackberries for the season, knowing 'one more day' would be too late and the berries wet and mushy! Moment by precious moment summer slipped away and we could all sense it going. The powerful beat of nature, unstoppable and palpable! Sun, lowering in the sky where clouds and shafts of light collided in a spectacular kaleidoscope of mixing and dramatic colours, showcasing momentarily exquisite snapshot images, painting the brilliance of natures divine light and beauty. Yesterday, profoundly moving and seemingly the end of summer on the North Island.
