A day of magic in Weynton Passage ~ humpback whales in their glory!
How incredible was our tour viewing humpback whales in Weynton Passage today. There were six adults including Slash with her new calf. The mother and calf were first sighted in the area yesterday and it is indeed exciting news! The whales were moving back and forth feeding in circles in the flooding current all of them were in a relatively small area. Also seen today: numerous dall's porpoises, harbour seals, rhinoceros auklets, bald eagles, marbled murrelets and river otters (a mother and her young kits) that passengers were thrilled to see at close range in Alder Bay.
