Breaching Humpback Whales, Orcas and Dolphins ~ Priceless!

Today's Sightings: Northern Resident Orcas, Humpback Whales, Dall's Porpoises, Pacific White-sided Dolphins, Steller Sea Lions hauled out ++and swimming, Harbour Seals, Rhinoceros and Cassin's Auklets, Red-Necked Phalaropes+, Common Murres, Bald Eagles, Belted Kingfishers and Gull species.

Today's tour was fabulous! It began with our viewing of a group of Pacific White-sided Dolphins just as we were departing from Alder Bay, it was a really exciting encounter for our guests on board to experience. Our sightings of Orcas, the A30s and some of the I115's were observed ahead of them entering into the Robson Bight (Michael Bigg) Ecological Reserve. The A30 Matriline were in a beautiful resting line and they were silent and resting. Later on we enjoyed viewing the I4's (three orcas) as we made our way west in Johnstone Strait while the Orcas were travelling to the east.

Our viewing of some five or more Humpback Whales was simply spectacular and left some of our guests speechless, especially when one breached nearby! Tail lobbing, pectoral slapping and two more breaches were seen prior to our leaving the area while more blows were seen at a distance.

How fabulous was our time out on the water today when 'big and small' happenings caught the attention of all of our guests and included a Bald Eagle catching a fish. There was so much to see in all directions and all of it was priceless!
