A marvellous mix of scenic beauty and marine life in our surroundings!

Today's Sightings: Northern Resident Orcas, Humpback Whales, Steller Sea Lions, Harbour Seals, Rhinoceros and Cassin's Auklets, Red-Necked Phalaropes, Bald Eagles, Belted Kingfishers, Common Murres, a Great Blue Heron, a Common Loon and Gull species.

It was a beautiful morning made even more so with our early sighting of the A30s. At Blinkhorn the Orcas turned and slowly made their way back to the east and we observed some socializing activity, spy-hopping and tail slapping. They continued onto the east and it is reported that they spent most of the afternoon in the vicinity of the Robson Bight (Michael Bigg) Ecological Reserve.

There were eight Humpback Whales that we counted, many were lunge feeding through bait balls and as we sat drifting in the current, one of our highlights has to be, when Freckles surfaced close by, surprising all of us!

More feed is evident in the area with increasing bait balls and gull activity and Humpback Whales lunge feeding ++.  The Steller Sea Lions, Harbour Seals and birdlife, all add to the marvellous mix of ever changing natural beauty in our  'local' surroundings that we can so easily all take for granted, BUT we never do!
