A breaching Humpback whale stole the tour today!

Our sightings today: Two Humpback whales, 20 + Dalls porpoises, Harbour seals+, Rhinoceros Auklets, Common Murres, Bald Eagles, Black Oyster Catchers and Belted Kingfishers. On such a warm and sunny day with flat calm waters our meandering through the narrow waterways with their abundant kelp forests glistening in the sunshine was indeed breathtaking. What truly took all of our breaths away was a Humpback whale breeching full-out of the water at a distance of some 150 metres from the boat! A second Humpback whale passing nearby, it's seemingly gliding movement observed underneath the water was mesmerizing to everyone onboard. Bow-riding porpoises were wonderful to watch swimming alongside while the family of 5 Black Oyster Catchers sitting together on a rocky outcrop added a special presence to the close of our tour!
