Nature never disappoints!
We awoke to another calm coastal morning here at Seasmoke Whale Watching. The water was a gentle movement of silver and grey, reflecting the light cloud cover overhead. Knowing that nature never disappoints, we headed away, excited for the beauty we were sure to encounter along the way.
And truly, the beauty we encountered around us was breathtaking and memorable. A Stellar sea lion surprised us with its size and its nonchalant way of poking its head above water to look around. Humpback whales all through Blackney Passage were surfacing and fluking before disappearing under the waves. Dall’s porpoises came by, their graceful movements catching our eye. The kelp, with their fronds floating lazily in the current, and the seals, quietly sunning themselves on the rocks, all added to the sense of peace and quiet on the water today. Bald eagles kept a watchful eye on us as we made our way slowly through small island passages.
Smiles of satisfaction were on everyone’s faces as we disembarked after another beautiful day being out on the water!
