Beautiful Afternoon
On the flat calm water early this afternoon we spotted some Pacific White-sided Dolphins. The small group seemed to be pre-occupied with something but they did race over to SV Tuan on a couple of occasions to have a look at us while we all looked down at them. Next on the list were Dall's Porpoises and there were plenty. They were also in small groups but spread out all over the place. Some were moving slowly while others were moving right along kicking up roostertails as they went. By mid afternoon the wind picked up to a fine sailing breeze so we put up the sails and while tacking back and forth in Queen Charlotte Strait spotted the first Minke whale that we've seen so far this month. This elusive animal showed itself a few more times before disappearing all together which was our cue to head for home.
