a Sail with a Humpback Whale

Guests aboard SV Tuan enjoyed watching a huge Humpback whale and having a great sail today. The afternoon was sunny and warm with a light to moderate westerly wind and en-route to Queen Charlotte Strait we saw both Harbor and Dall's Porpoises. Once we found a Humpback whale we recognized it as BCX0081 who is an adult female animal that has been returning to these waters for the summer for years now. After watching her forage and fluke we set the sails and tacked back and forth across Blackfish Sound before starting up the engine and motor-sailing most of the way home. Amongst the small islands and reefs on the journey back we saw loads of Harbor Seals, and Bald Eagles as well as a Black Oystercatcher and Cassin's Auklet.
