Orcas

We viewed the same large group of Orcas today that swam past Alert and Alder Bays yesterday. Both MV Cetacea and SV Tuan enjoyed some wonderful encounters with these amazing animals. In fact guests aboard the SV Tuan were blown away by a particularly curious young whale from the A12 pod. For some time the animals weren't vocalizing because they were resting but near the end of the tour all the animals started to spread out to travel and forage and they began to call quite a bit. While this was happening SV Tuan was under sail and MV Cetacea was floating quietly both enjoying the sounds. There were also plenty of Dall's Porpoises in the Strait today and some were spending their time swimming with the Orcas. It was another perfect day to be on the water.
