Calm Seas and Orcas

As the fog lifted early this afternoon we located the whales that were previously hidden amongst it. All the animals were resting and they continued to rest all afternoon. To see about 25 animals all in resting form, surfacing in unison is quite a sight. The sound of it on a flat calm afternoon like this was just as impressive. As the whales continued towards the Michael Bigg Ecological Reserve we headed out to see some Humpback whales. The wind picked up and aboard SV Tuan we put up the stay sail. On the way home both vessels meandered through the islands looking at various other wildlife to make the afternoon's wildlife experience complete.
