(Sept. 3rd) Orcas, Sun, Sailing, Sea lions, Black Bear, HB

We definitely saw a lot of wildlife today. The sun shone and the animals were abundant. Both SV Tuan and MV Cetacea had wonderful tours. The Orcas were all over Johnstone strait spread out foraging busily but we were saddened to see that B13's dorsal fin has collapsed completely sometime during the last 3 weeks since we saw him last. We can only hope he will be OK. The vocals heard by him and others were an array of calls, whistles, grunts, and clicks at all volumes as there were whales near, far, and everywhere between. This morning everyone aboard was surprised as the Orcas swam right between the shore and a swimming Black Bear. No one had any idea which way to look. As the Ceatcea found a Humpback whale near some of the Orcas this afternoon Tuan set the sail for a gentle sail with the animals as they guided us part way home. On the way back to the Bay there were Sea lions, Seals, a Black Oystercatcher and even 3 fluffy gull chicks not too far from their nests.
