(Sept. 9th) Lunge Feeding Humpbacks
Off into the Strait to find atleast 7 lunge feeding Humpback whales! It was a bit breezey so we set the mainsail and tacked back and forth while these magnificent animals swam in circles all around us. We were looking this way and that all the while seeing these animals surface from under huge schools of small fish with their mouths wide open. It was amazing to see such concentrated feeding behaviour in a small localized area. On the way home the breeze leveled off and we spotted 3 Pacific White-sided dolphins.
