The morning began amongst bow riding Dall's porpoises and the trend continued throughout the day delighting everyone aboard on both morning and afternoon tours. The seas remained calm and the skies fluctuated between mist and clear blue making for some excellent scenery as we cruised through the archipelago. The highlight of both trips was our encounters with mother and calf humpback whale as the calf has proved itself to be very surface active showing off its pectoral fins and tail flukes altered by the odd full breach!
Other wildlife sighted throughout the day included harbour seals, Steller sea lions, harbour porpoise, bald eagles, black oyster catchers, 2 wandering tattlers, rhinoceros auklets, 3 Cassin's auklets, common murres, california gulls and a ring-billed gull.
