JULY 7: Another amazing day of viewing Orcas, Humpback & Minke Whales!

Three Humpback Whales, 8 Resident Orcas and a Minke Whale were all observed early on in the tour. Another pair of Humpbacks, a mother and calf were also later seen on tour.
Passengers enjoyed the early viewing, watching the interaction of the three Cetaceans who were feeding together at close range. The blows of the orcas were the first to be sighted in Johnstone Strait and simultaneously a Humpback blow was also seen in Weynton Passage, followed by the surprise surfacing of a Minke Whale feeding nearby. As it turned out, two more Humpback whales were seen to have joined in the feeding frenzy in Weynton Passage. The two pod's of orcas, the A23's and the A8's, commonly called the A5's were the same pods that were in Johnstone Strait yesterday. The orcas, having passed through Weynton Passage, turned and headed east in Blackfish Sound while the Humpback Whales moved out into the Queen Charlotte Strait. It was a great way to spend the day amongst the myriad of species that included: Dall's Porpoises, Bald Eagles, Harbour Seals, Rhinoceros Auklets, Pigeon Guillemots and others!
