Our beautiful encounter with orcas today was a dream come true for a family from France and Karl from the UK. The A42s were nearby, foraging between Blinkhorn and Beaver Cove when we headed out on our tour this afternoon. How lucky were we to find them where we did and listening to their beautiful A-Clan calls via our hydrophone was indeed beautiful!

As we sat drifting with our engines off we had a surprise close encounter when A66 surfaced close to our boat as he foraged nearby. His echolocations were clearly heard via our hydrophone and then with his surprise surfacing, everyone became even more excited and were extremely happy!

Even though it was foggy and wet this afternoon we all stayed warm and dry in our orange suits and our sighting of three humpback whales was fabulous. Everyone could identify Guardian when she tail lobbed and also Freckles who circled back and forth around us. It was magic in the making!
