A breaching Humpback Whale in the morning and A42s on the afternoon tour!

Today's Sightings: Northern Resident Orcas, Humpback Whales, Pacific White-sided Dolphins +, Dall's Porpoises, Steller Sea lions, Harbour Seals, Bald Eagles, Belted Kingfishers, Rhinoceros and Cassin's Auklets, Pigeon Guillemots, Red-necked Phalaropes++, Black Turnstones, Black Oyster Catchers and Gull species.

The Orcas: A42s were deep inside the Michael Bigg (Ecological Reserve) on our morning tour where they spent most of the morning feeding deep in the estuary of the Tsitika River and also rubbing at the main rubbing beach. There was a humpback whale near the Sophia Islets who was breaching++ , it was an amazing sight to see, and then on our way home we encountered some 100 + Pacific White-sided Dolphins.

On the afternoon tour we encountered the A42s who had left the Ecological Reserve and had travelled as far as Kaikash on Vancouver Island where they continued onto Blinkhorn, foraging as they travelled. There were some A-Clan calls heard via the hydrophone and our viewing of them was superb, especially of A66 as he surfaced alongside! The dolphins were still in the area in the afternoon and gave us all a wonderful viewing, one was breaching constantly; we also saw a mother and calf Humpback Whale. After a peaceful time viewing Bald Eagles and Harbour Seals in some quiet waterways, we made on our way home.
