Breathtaking viewing of our old friends Conger, Ripple, Argonaut and Moonstar

Our sightings today: Humpback whales, Harbour seals with many seal pups, Bald Eagles, Belted King Fishers, Black Oyster Catchers, Cassin’s Auklets, Red-necked Phalaropes, Rhinoceros Auklets and one Black-tailed deer. Even on an overcast day, the islets, scenic passages and our lush green forested coastline was as bright and stunning as we could hope for. Today we traveled on glassy seas and witnessed nature at its most stunning and new.

It was a tour filled with youth as we viewed numerous Harbour seals and their vulnerable pups, as well as the best ever viewing of our Eaglet. It feels as though we are witnessing with our very own eyes the nurturing and growing of this young Bald Eagle, into the very world we will share with it. All of this magic, enjoyed from the viewing platform of our vessel Seasmoke.

We recognised at least four Humpbacks today, this included Conger, Ripple, and fabulous viewings of Argonaut and Moonstar. It is so satisfying and thrilling being able to identify these giant beauties by a pattern on the underside of their flukes (whale tail). It made for a more personal experience, knowing who we were observing and to realise that they have made this area their summer home.

A memorable day shared once again with a fine group of adventurers and natures generous gifts.
