Seeing beauty everywhere we go!

When one focusses on seeing beauty, beauty is everywhere, and so it was today! The weather provided fog early on the morning tour and an overcast sky that turned dark and gloomy with heavy rain clouds followed by rain this afternoon. It was typical Raincoast weather and beautifully portrayed amongst the wildlife sightings we observed throughout the day.

The Humpback whales we saw this morning were foraging back and forth in wide circles and included Argonaut, and this afternoon, we found one that was lunge feeding through a small bait ball. It is always a thrill to anticipate and watch, a Humpback whale, its jaw wide-open and gaping while simultaneously its enormous body breaks the surface of the water with tremendous speed and energy. It is a marvellous photo opportunity if one is patient and lucky like we were today!

Other wildlife sightings included: Dall's porpoises, Stellar Sea Lions, Red-necked Phalaropes, Rhinoceros Auklets, Common Murres, Harbour Seals, Black Oyster Catchers and Bald Eagles. At one point, five eagles were seen sitting in a tree; it was a fantastic sight for those who had never seen Bald eagles before.

One never knows what one might see while out on tour as every day provides an ever-changing natural world of beauty for those who perceive beauty wherever they go!
