Humpback Convention? May as well have been. When we see Humpback whales we often see 1 or 2, sometimes 3 or even 2 groups of 2, (usually mother's with calves) but today we saw 7 animals in total! 5 of the animals were whales that we know fairly well but 2 of them were new arrivals for this area this year. The weather was gorgeous and for much of the day the lighting was just perfect to spot their blows. Both MV Cetacea and SV Tuan had wonderful encounters with these huge whales and SV Tuan also enjoyed a late afternoon sail with them. Other marine mammals seen today were Dall's porpoises, harbor seals, and a minke whale.
