The beautiful Coast Range Mountains with their snow capped peaks formed a magnificent backdrop to the whales and dolphins feeding in the area today. There were five Humpback Whales, three of whom were feeding amongst a large group of Pacific White-sided Dolphins+++ while two more were reported travelling west of Bere Point and it was fabulous seeing their blows in the distance in every direction we looked. One of the Humpback Whales we identified was ‘Stripe’ who appeared suddenly from the west and we watched as it made its way on the flood current into Weynton Passage. It was a beautiful day with calm waters, clearing clouds and sunshine. Also seen today were: Harbour Seals, Dall’s Porpoises, Bald Eagles and three eaglets in their nests, Rhinoceros Auklets, Marbled Murrelets, Pigeon Guillemots, Belted Kingfishers, California, Mew & Herring Gulls.
